Manny Vargas boogLIFE Aaron Loyd January '24 T-Shirt
It was 1996. Probably the most accomplished year in my Bodyboarding career. I was riding for Toobs Bodyboards and we had Nick Mesritz as our personal shaper. He would take a bus from Sunset Beach to his shaping shack in Honolulu every day to build us boards to our liking and exact specifications. Thinking back now, he was a beast for doing that on the daily. Now, I am kicking myself in the ass for not holding onto this particular board. It was a custom shape that he created after watching me ride waves like this Backdoor Pipeline gem. Actually, I wish I would’ve saved every single board that he built for me. In true Manny V fashion, I probably handed it off to someone who I thought would enjoy it as much as I did. Love ya Mez 🙌
As for the wave… this wave lined me up with three of the most famed photographers on the planet at that time. Aaron Chang was in the channel and his photo got me a cover. Chris Vanlennep was also there and his photo got me a two page spread. And this Aaron Loyd photo also got me publicity in a few international magazines. It was insane how one wave could generate so much publicity. And of course, my sponsors loved it. Big hug and much love to all three of them for pushing the button and using up the limited 36 photos they had on their roll of film.

I’m stoked to be able to offer this image and other Aaron Loyd images from years past. To keep things fresh, I will upload new images on the 15th of every month. The slow movers will be swapped out after 60 days in the shop. Much love and thanks for the support amigos. BOOM! 👊🏽💥
This t-shirt feels soft and lightweight, with the right amount of stretch. It's comfortable and flattering for all. Every t-shirt will have a boogLIFE logo on the back.
Printful (our printer) uses a wet-on-wet printing technique. They use a pre-treatment that helps the ink bond with the fabric which helps prevent flaking. The images used will be in high resolution. Your gear will have the best print possible.
Some types of direct-to-garment printing designs can come out differently than expected. That's because for designs to be visible on all non-white items, the printer uses a white under base—a mix of white color and the color you added in your design.
When printing on colorful or dark garments, a white under base is used. The underbase is a mix of your intended color and white. The underbase cancels out the dark or bright-colored garment, making the print color stand out.
